Marriot, run by Mormons, censors in house computers:
Whenever I go to something vaguely dangerous-google photos? Lesbian and gay Christians? I get a pop up menu that says that I can't go there because "site coach thinks this site may contain content that is harmful to young visitors." (Which is why all those gay teenager are commiting suicide, I'll have to check the stats in Utah.
Maybe they're just too busy being procreating with 13 y/o girls.
Excuse the rant, but I'm so used to freedom of the computer. Maybe they also take the caffeine out of the coffee here. I'm just too tired. Take this keyboard away from me.

Bat Mitzvah Journals
No pictures right now as I'm blogging from the hotel and the computer won't let me add pics, alas...
We drove to Bethesda Maryland for BL's niece's Bat Mitzvah yesterday. I left work at 12:30 and we arrived a mere 6.6 hours later in Bethesda, with a lovely stop for lunch, in
Bordentown, NJ?. We ran into BL's cousin at the bar as we arrived and had dinner with him and BL's brother at the hotel. I'm really tired, after sleeping in till 6:30 this moring. The services are from 9:30 to 12: or so this morning. note: I discovered that you don't really have to arrive on time when the Bat Mitzvah girl related a phone conversation with a friend where the friend said "like do I really have to be there at 9:30!" and the BMG replied, "no be there around 10:00 or so." The blessed event as Bl and I keep calling it will be held at at Adat Shalom in Cabin John, MD. Pray for me, the women of no patience for long services. But they do have a tadpole pond!
The Jewish people are not so strict with their schedules as us Catholics.

Friday Five Prayer
Sally posted "Part of the Ascension Day Scripture from Acts 11 contains this promise from Jesus;
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Then he was taken from their sight into the clouds, two angels appeared and instructed the probably bewildered disciples to go back to Jerusalem, where they began to wait and to pray for the gift Jesus had promised.
Prayer is a joy to some of us, and a chore to others, waiting likewise can be filled with anticipation or anxiety....
So how do you wait and pray?"
1. How do you pray best, alone or with others?
Actually, my form of prayer is more mindfulness meditation, these days. Sitting still, emptying my mind and being. I can do this alone or with others around but ultimately I am alone.
2. Do you enjoy the discipline of waiting, is it a time of anticipation or anxiety?
2. Do you enjoy the discipline of waiting, is it a time of anticipation or anxiety?
I don't really like to wait. I'm waiting for my contract prescribed raise right now and just found out it doesn't go into effect until late June and since I've been waiting through the negotiations, change of governors etc. well, it's time for it to show up in my paycheck. Bureaucracy!
3. Is there a time when you have waited upon God for a specific promise?

When I was a child, but I learned my lesson.
4. Do you prefer stillness or action?
4. Do you prefer stillness or action?
I have been in both camps, but I seem to have moved to the action camp these days. As in God help those who...
5. If ( and this is slightly tongue in cheek) you were promised one gift spiritual or otherwise what would you choose to receive?

I'd like to be able to feed the masses! To cure global hunger. I live mere blocks away from the largest food pantry in NYC and the lines get longer and longer.

Queen of the May
This is the song we sang in school, both primary and secondary when we crowned the statue of the virgin Mary in the commons. I don't quite remember the dirge-like cadence, though. Ours was more raucous. That's what you get with 800 teenagers outside on a spring day in the sunshine!
Happy May Day
