Friday Five; Signs of Spring Signs of Hope

The Magnolia Tree I saw today was not quite this far along. Actually it was just little fuzzy buds, but very promising!
What have you seen/ heard this week that was a :

1. Sign of hope?
I've been watching the buds at the tips of branches of trees get fat and start to get green (or pink or other colors in some cases.) When I go to get the bus to the subway to the bus in the Morning, it's light (at 6:20 am) but not for long...

2. An unexpected word of light in a dark place?
I made a BIG clerical error on and commented on in an e-mail to my superiors-not knowing it was an error- on Monday. In a nanosecond both of them were sitting in my office telling me how I COULD NOT do that! I realized my error-hey I've been sick-all that anesthesia yada yada. I was very very penitent, mea culpa, mea culpa- I would have beat my breast If I could have
Was I going to get fired. No. They saie don't do it again, and the big boss actually laughed at the end of it all. Sigh

3. A sign of spring?
So far just those buds on the trees. And daffodils in the Korean markets. Nice.

4. Challenging/ surprising?
I attended a coronation ceremony of one of my friends last Sunday based on the book "The Queen of Myself" by Donna Heynes
who conducted the ceremony. There were about 8-9 women. all in mid-life, and by that I mean post-menopausal. Heynes explained that at this age women don't become crones but queens. for more see her website. It was very moving.

5. Share a hope for the coming week/month/year....
I hope the coming week is a little calmer, workwise, than this one.

Queens! I like that! I am not looking forward to Daylight Saving Time because I also like when it gets light earlier in the morning.

I didn't know Magnolias came in pink too! We have white magnolia trees all around here.

Glad work worked out.

I love the queen book and was just thinking about it in my prayer time today! And I went to a coronation ceremony once too--so glad you got to also.

Enjoy your Good Friday off.
